* Calling All Nerds sends our heartfelt condolensces out to Adrian Peterson and his family. The Minnesota Vikings running back lost his two year-old son on October 11, 2013 due to injuries suffered from an alleged assault.
* The New York Giants start the year with an 0-6 record for the first time since 1976. Giants QB Eli Manning, the 2-time Super Bowl MVP with 15 interceptions in all of 2012, already has 15 picks in six games this season.
* Green Bay Packers receiver Randall Cobb was carted to the locker room with a knee injury against the Ravens. Add Cobb to a growing list of injured Packers that includes RB Eddie Lacy, and LBs Clay Matthews and Nick Perry.
* Dallas Cowboys DE DeMarcus Ware left Sunday night’s game against the Redskins after suffering a right quad injury. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Ware will miss week 7 and could be out for as may as 3-4 weeks.
* After a disappointing 0-4 start, the Pittsburgh Steelers got their first win of the season with a 19-6 win over the New York Jets at MetLife Stadium. Credit the defense, who also created its first two turnovers of 2013.
* Houston Texans fans got their wish on Sunday, when QB Matt Schaub was replaced in the third quarter by backup T.J. Yates. Not exactly how they pictured it, as Schaub went down with an ankle injury and the Texans dropped to 2-4.
* The Kansas City Chiefs, who won all of two games a season ago, stayed perfect so far this year with a win over the Oakland Raiders. The additions of new head coach Andy Reid and new quarterback Alex Smith are two big reasons why the Chiefs are 6-0.
* Down 27-23 with 1:13 left against the Saints, Tom Brady leads the team to a game-winning touchdown with just 5 ticks remaining for the 30-27 win. Proof that as long as Brady is on the field and Bellichick is on the sideline, the Patriots have a chance to win.
* After being released by the Oakland Raiders on Oct. 7, quarterback Matt Flynn signed with the Buffalo Bills this past Monday. Bills QBs Kevin Kolb is out for the year, rookie EJ Manuel is nursing a knee injury and Thad Lewis sprained his foot in Week 6, making it necessary for the Bills to pick up another QB.
* Eagles QB Nick Foles stepped into the starting role Sunday afternoon when Michael Vick went down with a hamstring injury in Week 5. After a great day against the Bucs, should Vick return to the starting position, or has Foles earned the right to the job?
