5. Layla

After Michelle McCool retired and Lay-Cool split up, Layla proved that she had both the in-ring ability and the mike skills to make it on her own in the WWE. Layla has also proven that she can work well as both a heel OR a face (although I think she seems more comfortable in the role of the stuck-up bad girl). I think that a solid build up of of matches and promos with any of the top Divas today makes the division better than what we have right now.

3. Kaitlyn

This is probably the easiest choice. Mostly because it was Kaitlyn who won the Divas title at the anniversary RAW show and officially sent Eve packing. Even though she is still fairly new in the ring, Kaitlyn is building a solid following from the fans AND puts on pretty good matches. Not sure WWE believes she has what it takes to lead the Divas into the future, but putting the championship around her well put together waist is a step in the right direction.

4. Tamina Snuka

With Beth Phoenix leaving a few months back, and the Awesome Kong/Karma experiment leaving us less than satisfied to say the least, the Divas division doesn’t have a real “monster heel.” In my opinon, second generation superstar Tamina Snuka could be that heel. She definitely needs something new to do for one thing. And Tamina also brings a rare combination of talent, size, personality, and pedigree to the Divas division.

Paige

There is a lot of hype surrounding the current NXT regular. How long before she is called up to the big leagues?

1. Natalya

In my opinion, the best pure wrestler in the women’s division….possibly ever in the WWE. Can you tell me who Natalie Niedhart pissed off at the top? She is beautiful, talented, and comes from one of the most storied families in wrestling history. But instead of being pushed, she had been relegated to the ridiculous flatulance angle, followed by a stint alongside Hornswoggle as the Great Khali’s groupie. Seriously? If you really want this division to mean something again, put Natalya back at the top where she belongs.

2. AJ Lee

Okay, whether you are a fan of the Divas and its division or not, no one can argue that in 2012, man or woman, A.J Lee was one of the most OVER people in the WWE. From the wedding that wasn’t with Daniel Bryan to her stint as GM on RAW to the John Cena “scandal” and finally, her alliance with Dolph Ziggler, A.J. has been at the center of some of the company’s biggest storylines. Putting A.J. back at the top of the Divas division seems like a no-brainer.

Charlotte

Another member of NXT with a lot of hype around her who is just waiting for the call. Can the daughter of the Nature Boy be to the Divas division what her father was to the NWA/WCW?

Lita

One of the greatest Divas ever, Lita showed that she still has it against Heath Slater a few months back. Would it hurt to give her a call? Pretty sure CM Punk has her number.

Honorable Mentions

For a lifelong fan of professional wrestling like myself, not to mention a total nut for all things nostalgic, I have to say I was more than a little disappointed with the 20th Anniversary edition of RAW recently. No Stone Cold, no Triple H, no HBK, no Bret Hart, no Undertaker.

Not even a quick Piper’s Pit or a trademark “DAMN” from Ron Simmons. If that wasn’t enough, one thing that the night DID have, is the loss of yet ANOTHER important member of the already depleted Divas Division. Champion Eve Torres dropped the title to Kaitlyn…

….and also dropped a bomb earlier in the day that she would be leaving WWE right after the anniversary show. Hate me if you must for this, but I am a fan of the Divas division. At least I have been in the past. So here is the big question. WHO…if anyone, is ready to step up and help make the division  interesting and important again.
