Okay, so there we go. One day locked away in the books. We are officially off and runnin’ here. That wasn’t so hard, now was it? Actually it wasn’t. However I will admit that the sure fire way to tell that you’ve changed your eating habits for the better is that all of a sudden you are aware that you’re hungry. And that is how it was for me all day today…lol. And once again I am not complaining at all…I’m just sayin. The hardest part of any of this for me has always been getting started. So that day one was crucial. You don’t want to make it so hard on yourself that you just panic and stop altogether before you even get started.
I kept things nice and simple for my first day back on track. My trainer and friend Mr. Jonathan Baltzer always told me that the secret to getting healthier is really simple. Just put out more than you take in. What can I say? Some things really are just that easy. So I went back to basics. Ever heard the term “K.I.S.S.?” No, not that band. Although a health regimen that called for face paint and rock music? Sounds kinda cool to me. Lol. But no, I mean the acronym. K.I.S.S. translates to: Keep It Simple, Stupid. And that is pretty much going to have to be my motto for now. At least til I get back in the swing of things again. And so, I set out to keep it nice and simple.
For breakfast I had a yogurt with cranola, a banana and a cup of tea. For lunch it was turkey on whole wheat with a small side salad. And for dinner, because my cupboards were kinda bare, I changed it up and made breakfast for dinner. Three eggs scrambled with low-fat cheese and a couple`a slices of honey wheat toast (you know you’re jealous – ha!). You can’t get more simple than that. For exercise I went out and took a two-mile walk. I was told that when you walk, always walk like you’re late. Which is perfect for me….because I am always late. So there you have it. Am I hungry? Sure. Am I starving? No. Am I happy to be back on track again? Absolutely!
