A Life Worth Weighting For - May 20th, 2013 by Donald McDermott

        -  If you are tired of starting over, stop giving up

YAAAAWWWWWN! I have NOT been sleeping well lately. On top of that, I ran around all weekend, jogged four miles in the rain yesterday, and then stayed up into the wee hours of the night trying to get myself ready to put another deadline week to rest at work today. I did however, stop by my rusty and trusty old scale this morning on my rough daily commute from my bedroom to my home office. You know you’re jealous…lol. Happy to report that I am down just about another full pound.

I have to admit, there was a time when I wouldn’t have been really happy with a total of just under 20 pounds in just about three months. It would have frustrated me, I would have gotten angry, and eventually just stopped. Nowadays I am smart enough to know that a loss is a loss. Life is a marathon, not a sprint. The weight will come off over time…and that is something I do have (to a degree anyway). Plus, if you knew where my head has been emotionally lately, I think you would commend me just for still trying. So another week, another weigh-in, another victory.

I am going to celebrate by going for my daily run out here in front of my house on Fire Ave. The past two weeks I challenged myself to jog fifteen miles for the week. I think I am going to boost that number to 18 miles this week. Wish me luck! After the run and hopefully the world’s longest, most fulfilling shower, I plan to finish up the day on the computer and head myself BACK into Queens for the third day in a row. It’s my regular visit to mom, followed by dinner at Cronin’s with dad. What can I tell ya? I’m pretty simple…but it works for me.

Have a great start to the week people…stay out of your own head…and keep movin!

Until tomorrow!
