You know, as odd as it seems for a beautiful spring Friday. I have to say that this has been kind of an uneventful day. Started the morning with cereal with banana and yogurt on the side, with the world’s most awesome nine-year old, my daughter Meghan. After dropping her off at school I took a quick ride before work to help a friend of mine move some stuff. Nothing like getting yourself sweaty before the work day even starts…lol. I never mind doing anything physical though. I also never mind helping out a friend either. What can I say…it’s my curse? Lol. Got some work done on the computer and went with chicken salad on whole wheat and a caesar salad for lunch (made by me at home – healthier AND cheaper that way).
Megs was making a Mother’s Day thingy in a workshop after school today, so I didn’t have to pick her up til a little after 5 o’clock. That gave me a little extra time to get work done here at home. Friday night is also Meghan’s weekly class at the local church. So I grabbed my baby girl up from school and took her out to eat before church. Not sure if you have these by you (wherever YOU are), but there is a chain of places out here that serves some healthier options called Tropical Café. We sat by the window, talked and laughed about the day and the weekend ahead. All while munching on wraps and fresh fruit. Washed it down with a freshly made strawberry/banana smoothie….YUM! Call me an old softee if you want…
…but just in case I don’t say it enough, I LOVE those moments between us. Just me and her. There’s nothing like it. Picked Meg up after church at 8:30pm. She is sound asleep now. I can hear her sleeping softly (kinda softly – lol) in the next room while I type this. Oh yeah….how could I forget? I made sure to get my run in today too. I set a goal of 15 miles for this week…and as of right now I am at 10…with only Saturday and Sunday to go. Whooooo hooooooo….the drama builds as the finish line approaches. Okay, maybe the drama doesn’t build toooo much. Still got five miles to do in two days. But for now, it’s time to get some sleep. Tomorrow comes early. Especially when the Meg-Monster is over. Hope you are all having a great Friday too…with an even greater weekend ahead!
Until tomorrow!
