YAAAAAAAAWN!

I tend to start a lot of my blogs that way lately. What can I tell ya, spending my nights dressed like a bat fighting crime and protecting my city takes a lot out of a guy. Wait, I mean WORKING all night. THAT’s what I’m doing, working. As far as YOU know anyway. So apparently I am a wee bit delirious today. After spending the day in front of my computer yesterday, making my proud contribution to PARENTGUIDE magazine, I drove into my old Astoria, Queens stomping grounds. I was born and raised there for anyone who might not know. Any-hoo, my mom had a bad stroke over a year ago, and unfortunately she will probably be spending the rest of her days at the Queens Boulevard Extended Care Center…sadly.

So I hung with mom for awhile, then went out to dinner with my dad. At…you guessed it…Cronin & Phelans. We McDermotts are two things if nothing else: loyal…and creatures of habit. Each of those qualities can be good and/or bad depending on the situation. And yes, if you haven’t done it yet, get yourself over to Cronin’s at least once. Just to see what all the hyping I do for them is about (you know you wanna). I really don’t think you will be disappointed. I had stiry-fry chicken and vegetables over white rice tonight…DA BOMB! After saying our good-byes, I headed over to my printer, which happens to be right in Long Island City…just a literal stone’s throw from Astoria (if your arm is strong enough of course).

From the printer I headed out to Forest Hills to pick-up my faithful sidekick Robin….um, ahem…..I mean Cody. For a refreshing change of pace we brought PG magazine to the masses in Queens rather than Manhattan. Still got home at around 4 in the morning….but it was a change of pace either way. Another day of solid work in the books gang. I got my exercise in for the day….I will talk to you about that tomorrow….and was good at all my meals. They say that if you do it enough times in a row it becomes a habit. Still feels like hard work on some days, but I am definitely getting there. Hope you’re having a good start to the week as well. I would love to stay and chat….but duty calls once again….g’nite!

Until tomorrow!
