A Life Worth Weighting For - May 6th, 2013 by Donald McDermott

Monday can tend to be a long day for me. Especially when I am doing it on very little sleep because I was out late the night before doing my second job. This has turned out to be one of those days. Aside from dragging my weary old bones out of bed after only about three hours of shut-eye for what seems like the ump-teenth day in a row (seriously, ump-teenth is a number), it is also the day that I play “good son” to the best of my ability and trek into Queens to visit with the family. Woke up sore and still pretty beat today. On my way to the computer in my home office to tackle the work day, I stopped to tackle the scale. Now last week turned out to be a bit of a bust for me when it came down to “rubber meets the road time” on Monday morning. I was PRETTY sure that this week would bring better results for me…

….and thankfully I was right. Dropped down another pound and a half. Which is cool with me. I added ten extra miles of running last week to my normal exercise routine…but once again I knew part of that would be diminished due to excessive energy drinks and lack of sleep this past weekend. And just for the record, I am not a big supporter of energy drinks at all. They are pretty much all sugar and that is so NOT me. But when you have to be behind the wheel all night, you’re on little to no sleep already, and your passenger has an over-protective mother who surely knows what to do with a body, you do what you have to do…lol. So I did what I had to do, but I still got my time in and still saw a decent drop this week. Another victory in the books too. Not a bad way to start off the week.

Until tomorrow!
