Mistakes are always forgivable, if one has the courage to admit them.

The problem with getting a good nights sleep for me is that it is usually followed by a day or two of not sleeping. Such is the case on this day. Lol. I slept like a log for more than 8 hours from Monday into Tuesday. Tuesday night however, I had to go out to do my second job into the wee hours of the morning. Crashed out around 3:30am and was up bright and early this morning at 8:30. Five hours isn’t too bad…for me anyway. Tackled the day head on and had a pretty good one. Got a lot of stuff done for work on the trusty computer in my home office. Started the morning out with some oatmeal (a great source of protein by the way). Then for lunch had turkey on honey wheat bread with lettuce, tomato and honey mustard (YUM).
With a caesar salad on the side (all made by my talented little hands by the way). For dinner I went with baked chicken thighs, a baked potato and broccoli (you know you’re jealous – lol). I got my run in today too. I challenged myself to jog 10 miles total this week…and as of today I am at 4.5. Not a bad start…still plenty of work to get done though. Also part of my routine nowadays, I went to my weekly parenting class at the local church. Tonight’s topic was “The Power of the Parent.” Pretty cool actually. In my opinion, most of our classes are pretty much about what you would expect to be told as a parent: listen to your kids, keep a close eye on them, be open to discussion, etc….
….with a little bit of the lord mixed in for good measure (we are in church mind you). Every once in awhile I pick up a little nugget or two that teaches me something that I didn’t know walking in. I figure if I don’t open myself up to anything new, then how can I ever expect to make myself better? And that’s pretty much what this little journey of mine is all about. Becoming a healthier guy, a wiser father, a better man. Well for right now, what I am is a tired man. So I am off to bed. Hope anyone and everyone reading this had themselves a pretty Happy Hump Day. I am going to attempt to get up first thing in the a.m. for a workout tomorrow. And the mornings seem to come earlier and earlier around here lately…..so g’nite!
Until tomorrow!
