A Life Worth Weighting For - April 7th, 2013 by Donald McDermott

YAAAAAWWWWNNNN….WOW!

I just walked through the front door of my house after one REALLY long day. A great one for me personally…but long just the same. And what made it great you might ask? Well I am glad that you did. Today was great because I got to go to my very first WrestleMania live at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. I am sure I have mentioned this before, but I have been a pro wrestling fan pretty much for my entire life. And scoff at the worlds of pro wrestling/sports entertainment if you will, but I will always love it. The fact that my 9 year old daughter Meghan is as big a fan as me makes it even better. Sadly, Meghan wasn’t with me tonight. And while I believe she should have been, I’ve come to terms with it.

It also means that she and I will just have to have our own Mania moment together somewhere in the future. I did however, get to go with a good group of people that includes two of my favorites, Cody Berberich and his brother Jesse (Nasty Juice) Berberich. I took the two of them to their very first SummerSlam event way back in 2002, so it was cool that we all took in our first WrestleMania together this year. We got out to Jersey early today too. Because part of making any live event special is what you do before it starts. The parking lot was loaded with tailgaters (many of whom were loaded themselves –lol). We made sure to enjoy the atmosphere and take in everything around us.

We had a tailgate party of our own, complete with burgers, hot dogs, chips, and my own homemade chili. I am happy to report that even at WrestleMania, I was able to be good though. I brought a box of wheat thins and some hummus, and I had one small burger. I’m sure I could have come up with a way to be even better…..but I definitely could have been worse too. And now I am home. My first WrestleMania experience definitely a positive one. Great show by the way…Taker and Punk stole the night (sorry if that sentence made no sense to you). Well I am off to bed. The scale will be waiting for me in just a few hours….ugh. That thing really needs to get a life of its own and go out once in awhile…lol.

Until tomorrow!
