Ahhhhhhhh, here we are…..day number 44. So glad you could join me. Now I know this is kind of random, but I told myself this morning that it was going to be a good day. Why you ask? Well because the number 44 has always been special to me. It is the number of one of favorite Yankees growing up, “Mr. October” himself, Reggie Jackson. It is also the number of my dad’s favorite baseball player back when HE was growing up (the dark ages – lol), Hank Aaron. So with more than 1,200 home runs between these two hall of famers, the forty-fourth day of my own journey has GOT to be a good one, right? Well, you would think. You would hope. And I always do my best to make it a great day. Only time will tell…and I will be sure to keep you posted as always. The good thing is that it falls on a Tuesday. If you’ve been keeping up with me thus far….
….you know that Tuesdays I try really hard to be good and keep pushing forward…since it is the day after my weigh-in each week. I spent all day today working my day job, followed by some light walking in the afternoon (it was all I had time for and at least it was something). Then it was off to Queens to visit with my mom (I hope she remembers it), dinner with dad at Cronins as always (the sesame salmon ROCKED) and last but never least, got to finish off my night job for the month. As an old co-worker and friend used to say, “I made an issue out of it.” You know, cuz I work for a magazine. You will have to excuse me….it’s been a loooong last week or so and I am a little punchy. Anyway, I swung for the fences on a personal level and did what I could to turn today into a home run kind of a day for me. I hope that somewhere out there, Reggie and Hank are proud!
Until tomorrow!
