HAPPY EASTER!!!

I have said that this little journey of mine is about so much more than just eating right and exercising. Over the past few weeks I have grown to appreciate the days where I learn a lesson that effects me on more than just the physical level. This was one of those days. Because today dear readers, was a bit of a lesson in patience. I started my morning off in church. Then I got to see my little princess Meggy and give her the homemade Easter basket I put together for her. She loved it by the way. At least I hope she did. From the church parking lot I hopped in my trusty white mini van…with my little purple monkey named Frank on the dash (Meg gave him to me) and I headed for Queens. Spent some time with my mom at her Rehab Center.

For those who don’t know, she had a stroke awhile back. That, combined with her just not having any fight left in her nowadays, and sadly she is just a shell of the person she used to be. This morning I had the pleasure of trying to teach her how to hold a coffee cup. If you want to be truly humbled, find one of the people you have looked up to most in the world, then try to teach them something incredibly basic….and fail at it. At least she liked the donuts and chocolate bunny I brought her. From there it was off to Edison, New Jersey with my brother for Easter with my aunt, uncle, one twisted cousin, my sister and brother-in-law. Oh yeah….and their oversized black bear of a dog named Brady.

My brother was in no mood for a long trip on a Sunday….so of course I made a wrong turn and got us lost coming off the GW Bridge….UGH! Luckily for me, he is nothing if not calm, cool and understanding at all times. Ha ha ha ha …..if you know John Paul/Ned at all….then you laughed at that sentence too. FINALLY made it to the house on Finley Road and then got faced with yet another challenge. Not overeating at an over-flowing holiday table. Hooo boy….would ANY part of today be easy? Lol. Well I did okay. I am not perfect by any means. But all things considered I didn’t do too bad. Had a good time all in all though. If nothing else I am definitely blessed with a good family. I was also reeeeeaaaaallly lucky that we hit NO traffic coming back.

Maybe God decided to take mercy on me for being in church this morning. So I dropped my brother off……then headed over to Forest Hills to watch the season finale of The Walking Dead. SUCH a good show, by the way! And last but not least, when the show ended, I headed out to work….with my trusty friend and sidekick Cody in the passenger seat. We spent a solid 6 hours bringing PARENTGUIDE to the masses of Manhattan. I practically crawled through my front door at about 4:30am…..and then typed all of this out for all of you fine folks. I hope you appreciate my dedication here    And now my friends, with another night in the book…..it is time to sleep. I do believe I have earned it.

Hope the Easter Bunny was good to everyone today.

Until tomorrow!
