Day Twenty-Five
So before I get started, let me just say that there aren’t a LOT of shows on TV that I go out of my way to watch anymore. There was a time when my whole life revolved around what was on television. These days I just don’t have that kind of time. So I choose the shows that I like pretty carefully. No doubt that the Big Bang Theory is one of those shows. It is well written and has a great cast. It also finds a way to mix touching moments with hilarious ones. Tonight was one of those episodes. If you’re not watching it, please turn off Real Housewives, The Bachelor, Honey Boo Boo or whatever else might find its way onto your TV….and check out the crew over at Big Bang. You won’t be disappointed. And if you are, well what did you listen to me for anyway? What do I know? Lol.
Okay, so I did watch some TV tonight. But only after I got my workout in the for the day. I have been wanting to kick things up a wee bit in the exercise department this week. And to do that, I decided to break out one of the coolest presents I have ever gotten. It was from my Aunt Barbara and my cousin Meghan on my 40th birthday….the P90X DVD set. In case you’ve never heard of it, the 90 refers to working out every day for 90 days….the X is for EXTREME….because the workouts certainly are. And the “P”….hmmmm. Persistence….Physical….Painful? Your guess is as good as mine there. But anyway, I was dying to try it out and was thrilled when I opened it on my birthday that year. Sadly, I only made it about half way through and then never went back. That always bothered me.
It is one of the very few things that I started and didn’t conquer on my first weight loss journey. And I am definitely not ready to start it up again just yet. Not this early in journey number two. However, with 12 serious DVD’s to choose from, it is still the perfect way to turn a workout day from ordinary to mind blowing. So I popped in the Kempo disc…which is basically cardio kickboxing. A great combination of punches and kicks, with some jumping jacks and running in place thrown in to keep your heart-rate up. It lasts for a solid hour…and you are DRENCHED when it is over. At least I know I am. Exhausted too. Obviously it has been WAAAAAAY too long since I have done it. But the good thing is that I am BACK doing it all over again. And it hurts…but it’s a good kind of hurt. Hopefully my body agrees with that last statement tomorrow….lol.
