For the most part I really look forward to the weekends. I guess most people do when you think about it. The advantage to the weekend when it comes to a journey such as this is that I am off from work on the two days before I weigh myself. That gives me the opportunity to be as active as possible for two straight days. Hopefully that will help me drop an extra pound or two before meeting the scale head on Monday morning. So my plan for today was to get up early, have a good workout first thing in the morning, and then end the day with a run or another good workout in the evening. That was the PLAN anyway, Unfortunately it didn’t work out that way.
There are always going to be days where things just don’t fall into place the way you want them to. Life gets in the way for all of us at times. The bad thing for me is that not only did I not get to exercise in the morning OR at night….but I spent the bulk of my day driving. I have said in the past that I try to turn anything I am doing into something physical. Walk instead of taking a cab, take the stairs instead of an elevator, wash your car instead of going to a car wash, stuff like that. There’s not a whole lot you can do when you are stuck behind the wheel of a car for most of the day though. On the plus side, driving for the better part of the day means that I didn’t have the opportunity to eat anything bad.
I made sure to have healthy snacks with me….a yogurt for the ride into Queens….a granola bar for the ride home….and I made healthy choices when it came time to eat a full meal. I even passed up the chance at a sit-down Italian feast yesterday that smelled AWESOME by the way. And if you know how much I love Italian food, then you know for me that is an accomplishment in itself. Lol. So I was lacking in the exercise department today….but good with food. It’s important to do the best we can with the things that we can control. And now it’s time for a decent night’s sleep. The scale will be wide awake and waiting for me in the morning. Hope you all had a good weekend too. Keep moving!
