Wow. Woke up this morning and realized that the weekend was a blur. Hard to believe it is over already. Now it is back to the grind once again. Definitely a great weekend with Meghan though. Thanks to everyone else who was a part of it too. On the long commute from my bed to the office in my house I stopped by the kitchen for some breakfast. Now I know I should be eating protein in the morning. I have actually read that people who start the day off with a protein-based breakfast (eggs, oatmeal) stay full longer than someone who doesn’t. Unfortunately, I just wasn’t up for the whole cooking experience today. So instead I had a bowl of raisin bran with a yogurt on the side.

It’s simple….but it gets me there. Before I ate though, I was totally aggravated when I did my usual Monday morning step up onto the scale today and saw that I was EXACTLY the same! I really don’t get it. I am not over-eating….and I am jogging EVERY day! Definitely thought it would make more of a difference after a few weeks. So that pretty much made the decision for me. It is time to change things up again. I really really want to make a good sized dent in my fitness goal this summer. Getting in that second workout of the day is going to be a huge help (I hope) and I certainly plan on being more consistent there.

I decided, as crazy as this sentence sounds, that I am going to add a few miles to my goal for the week. I figure to start I will add one mile to my run every other day. So it’ll be four miles one day, three miles the next. Then four again, then three, etc. So today being day number one of this new plan….I headed out before lunch and banged out four miles. Let me tell you, the first three were pretty easy as always. That last one though…..not pretty at all. I got through it though. It only has to be pretty in videos….and we’re not makin’ videos here son (as my trainer used to tell me). He would also tell me that the struggles in that last mile are where I am going to find what I need to get to where I want to be.

I sure hope so.

Until tomorrow!
