Happy Friday All!
Okay, definitely feeling more my normal self today after letting my eyes slip off the prize a little bit yesterday. Sometimes we need to be reminded that for everyone out there who wants to see us succeed….there is someone who wants to see us fail. Sad to say, but a harsh reality. So I put yesterday behind me and got right back up on the horse today. And of course I am speaking purely metaphorically….there was no actual horse. Just making sure we’re clear on that. Lol. Started the day off with scrambled eggs with fat free cheese and whole wheat toast. For lunch I went with a simple turkey sandwich with a side salad. These meals are all made at home by the way (by me).
It’s easier, healthier, more comfortable and less expensive when you prepare your own food. Went for my daily three mile run in the middle of the afternoon. I am seriously considering upping my distance just a little bit next week. Not that three miles a day isn’t a challenge….and I am definitely sweating when I am done….but I feel like I am getting used to the same pace and distance every day, ya know? I guess it’s a good sign when a 3-mile run doesn’t offer up enough of a challenge for ya…lol. Anyway, got home, showered and changed when I was done. Then headed over to pick Meggy up after school. Only one week left for her before summer break and the kid is totally a live wire.
She wants out….BAD! Meg and I headed over to the Smith Haven Mall to shop for Grandpa’s Father’s Day gift, and to spend some important one-on-one time together. Meghan is 9 going on 29 for those of you who don’t know. She is really at a great age. I love that she is someone you can sit and talk with…and not like you’re talking to a kid. You can shop with her and just enjoy each other’s company. Loved watching her in the mall. So much confidence in herself…something I never had at her age. We got home together pretty late and my little girl was asleep about ten seconds after she hit the pillow. A good day all around…and a great way to kick off our Father’s Day Weekend together!
Until tomorrow!
