A Life Worth Weighting For - June 3nd, 2013 by Donald McDermott

Over the years, I have gotten used to the fact that some days I have to function on very little sleep. I don’t usually complain about it. It is what it is, although some days are harder than others. This seems to be one of those days. Got to sleep around 4:30 this morning after working job number two through the night….and had to be up at 9am to hit the week running for job number one. Maybe it is because I am a day away from being another year older….but this one seems a wee bit tougher than usual.

On a positive note, I hit my personal mark of jogging 21 miles for the week, and that definitely reflected on the scale. Lost another half a pound this week. Which is always a good thing. And how do we celebrate such a milestone? We go for another run, of course! Lol. I think I am going to set the bar at three miles a day for awhile. Felt pretty good to do today….and it wasn’t nearly as hot or humid out as it has been lately.

Now it’s time to get ready to do my regular Monday night thing. Driving into Queens to see mom, dinner with dad (I won’t say where….you already know), and then I am delivering PG in Queens tonight, rather than the city. It all has to be done. Hopefully starting Queens gets me home a little bit earlier than usual. I’m feeling kinda beat…and sleep is important…especially at my age. Lol.

Until tomorrow!
